The Unicornmaths Programme is not published and is only available through a course. Courses consist of two days and one course is held each academic term.
The courses are open access and are suitable for Sencos, learning support teachers, mainstream teachers and classroom assistants of pupils at Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, and also for older students who are experiencing severe difficulties with number. The Programme will enable teachers to maximise their roles in the guidance of pupils with dyscalculia. Each aspect of number development is accompanied by ideas for its introduction and practice.
The courses also deal with the identification of underlying skill deficits that could cause dyscalculia.
Two mathematical assessments will be looked at and these will then lead into the writing of individual education plans.
